In this work as well, the form is that of a wall sculpture. I sought to visualize the relationship between intergenerational continuity and the dimensions of time and cyclicality. For this piece, a more experimental production method was chosen than in the other works on display, and a more personal subject was addressed. Matter has perpetuated itself through transformation for 13.8 billion years. From the formation of the first hydrogen atom to highly evolved organic systems such as human beings, this continuity endures. Each individual contributes to the universe’s ongoing flow through the course of their own life.

This work investigates my own position within that process. The form of leather or hide represents my family heritage. As a member of a lineage long engaged in leather manufacture, I am the last in my generation to practice this craft. In the sculpture, the leather form stands for my paternal lineage, while the metal material embodies my personal mode of production. My son, the next generation, has contributed to the work by painting its surface in hues of his choosing, thus extending the lineage into the future. Encircling the frame is a serpent biting its own tail, a form that echoes the leather lining on the interior surface and alludes to the universe’s endless continuity. The steel cables depict the tensioning of hide in traditional leather-stretching processes, and the perforations in the metal sheet reference the pegboard used in that process. Here, those perforations are arranged in a precise pattern: they encode, in Morse code, the final quatrain of Omar Khayyam’s Rubáiyát in English: “Whatever you may be, one day you shall vanish.
Every drop that falls to the earth shall rise to the sky.”

Bu çalışma da yine duvar heykeli formundadır. Bu çalışmada kuşaklar arası devamlılığın zaman ve döngüsellik ile ilişkisini görselleştirmek istedim. Bu çalışmada sergide ki diğer çalışmalardan daha deneysel bir üretim şekli seçilmiş ve daha kişisel bir konu seçilmiştir. Madde 13.8 Milyar yıldır, dönüşüm geçirerek kendi kendisini devam ettirir. İlk Hidrojen atomunun oluşumdan, insan gibi çok gelişmiş organik sistemlere kadar bu süreklilik devam eder. Her insan bireyi de kendi hayat akışı ile evrenin bu sürekliliğine katkıda bulunur. Bu çalışma bu süreçteki konumumu araştırdığım bir çalışmadır. Deri ya da post formu da benim için bir aile mirasıdır. Kuşaklardır deri imalatı ilgilenen bir ailenin bireyi olarak, bu meslek kolu beni kuşağımda son buldu. Bu çalışmada deri formu baba soyumu temsil eder. Metal malzeme benim üretim biçimimi. Son kuşak olarak ta benden sonraki kuşak olan oğlum, yüzeyi kendi seçtiği renkler ile boyayarak sürece katkıda bulunmuştur. Çerçevenin etrafını saran, iç yüzeydeki deri formuna benzeyen bir formda kuyruğunu yiyen yılan formu, evrenin sürekliliğine göndermede bulunur. Çelik halatlar ile görselleştirilen bağlantılar ise deri germe işlemini temsil ederken, sacın üzerindeki delikler, deri germe işlemindeki delikli panoyu temsil eder. Bu çalışmada ise delikler bir düzen halinde düzenlenmiştir. Bu delikler mors alfabesi ile yazılmış bir Ömer Hayyam dörtlüğünün İngilizce son kıtasıdır.
