The title of this sculpture is Seni Daha İyi Isırabilmek İçin No:2 (Sırtlan Çenesi) / To Bite
You Better No:2 (Hyena Jaw) Like the previous work, this piece alludes to the brutal
conditions of competition in contemporary society and the evolving concept of violence in response to these conditions. In today’s so-called civilized world, it is evident that physicalviolence is no longer tolerated. However, violence is not merely a physical phenomenon. Verbal violence manifests wherever hierarchical structures exist and are exploited for power.
In this context, the concept of biting is employed metaphorically as a response mechanism to verbal aggression. This idea is visualized through the jaw of a hyena, one of nature’s strongest biters. The first version of this piece was previously realized using a cast aluminum dog jaw. In this version, the hyena jaw replaces the dog’s, aiming to enhance the symbolic biting force. The title remains the same, as the conceptual framework continues from the earlier version.

Bu heykelin ismi ise “Seni Daha İyi Isırabilmek İçin No:2 (Sırtlan Çenesi)”, olarak seçilmiştir. Yine bu heykelde günümüz toplumundaki acımasız rekabet koşullarına ve bu koşullara göre değişim gösteren şiddet kavramına gönderme de bulunmaktadır. Günümüz medeni toplumunda fiziksel şiddetin artık kabul görmeyeceği artık açıktır fakat şiddet sadece fiziksel bir olgu değildir. Sözel şiddet hiyerarşik örgütlenmelerin var olduğu, bu örgütlenmelerden güç devşirildiği her yerde kendisini açığa vurmaktadır. Özel olarak ısırma kavramı bu heykel için başvuru olarak alınmıştır. Bu heykelde; karşıdakini sözel olarak incitme olgusuna karşı bu duruma karşı bir savunma mekanizması olarak ısırma kavramı, doğadaki ısırma gücü en etkili hayvanların başında gelen sırtlan çenesi ile görselleştirilmiştir. Daha önceki dönemde bu işin ilk versiyonu, alüminyum döküm bir köpek çenesi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu versiyonda ise köpek çenesi yerine sırtlan çenesi seçilerek ısırma gücü geliştirilmek istenmiştir. Aynı kavramın devamı niteliğinde olduğu için aynı isim devam ettirilmiştir.
