Nullosaurus
ENG/
The work is wearable; it is an aluminum Smilodon (Saber-Toothed Tiger) skull. The title of
this sculpture is "To Be More Resilient 2." The piece draws on the Turkish idiom “to be resilient” (literally “to have more teeth”) as its conceptual starting point. This sculpture refers conceptually to the dynamics of human relationships in a capitalist and competitive society. It aims to integrate the teeth of one of the most iconic predators in nature into the human body as a metaphor for a skill necessary for survival under competitive conditions. The aluminum material was chosen to sculpt a one-to-one replica of the animal’s skull, enhancing the sculptural dimension of the work.
